In strange times where people are alone together, we wanted to create a social installation. In PIXELGATE we are presenting a concept where people could interact in a located and dislocated setting. We took inspiration from the social experiment /r/place that was conducted in 2017 to make a social interactive installation.
What if multiple people can draw on a single canvas?
In PIXELGATE visitors of an event can use a web application to place pixels on a blank canvas. This canvas of pixels corresponds with a huge LED-screen in the public space and is updated in realtime. Everyone can participate and collaborate to make something on the canvas they desire. For this project, I developed the working prototypes.
